RAILS Summit

Powering Justice Tech with Responsible A.I.

November 7 & 8, 2024

Duke Law School
Durham, North Carolina

Why this conference? Why now?

Does AI have an opportunity to deliver direct to consumer legal services?

Where are we underestimating or overestimating the value of AI-facilitated service delivery?

Building community cross-industry, RAILS will host its first summit to explore these questions and others around responsible, ethical, and safe use of AI to advance the practice of law and delivery of legal services to all

The nascent direct-to-consumer legal tech sector, powered by AI, is booming both in new solutions and interest. The ecosystem has grown exponentially in a few short years and now includes a sizable number of startups, investors, academic institutions, court innovators, legal services organizations, lawyers, policy experts, regulatory reform advocates, and access to justice activists. Ensuring AI is deployed responsibly for consumers is critical, yet there has not been a conference specifically focused on direct-to-consumer legal tech.

The summit will convene key stakeholders to share best practices, energize new collaboration, and mobilize informed capital to ethical B2C legal tech. Through discussions of responsible AI, educating investors on market opportunities, and building bridges between stakeholders, this conference will not only strengthen the ecosystem for justice tech but springboard it to the next level.
